DR SCOTT BENTSON
Dr. Bentson is originally from Chicago, Illinois. I attended Logan College of Chiropractic Medicine located in St. Louis Missouri, graduating December of 1982. Upon graduation I moved immediately to Tucson, Arizona.
I spent the first year practicing as an associate with seasoned professionals that placed special emphasis on the art of adjusting the spine using Gonstead, Palmer and Thompson techniques. Working with highly skilled field doctors helped me to hone and sharpen my skills early on, improving my abilities to help patients get well as quickly as possible.
In June of 1984, I opened my own practice. In 1988, I moved to a larger location to incorporate the help of others in the allied holistic health care sphere. Currently in house we are able to serve the Tucson community with Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage therapy and Physical therapy, all under one roof. The multi-doctor approach enhances our ability to reach out and help more of our sick and suffering patients in the greater Tucson and metro areas.
DO YOU NEED CHIROPRACTIC CARE?
Chiropractors are most commonly consulted for musculo-skeletal aches and pains. Basically that means any bone, joint or muscle related pains caused by injuries or repetitive motions carried on within your activities of daily living. The list is long but commonly we see patients complaining of neck pain, back pain, leg pain (sciatic pain), headaches, any joint pain including knees, elbows, ankles, feet, wrists, hips, fingers, ribs, toes...and the list goes on.
Traumatic injuries occurring from falls, car accidents, and on the job injuries are common sources of new patients. Birth can be traumatic. Forceps delivery can cause the first misaligned vertebra causing irritation of the nerve with a loss of normal function to your infant. My youngest patient was 11 hours old.
The main focus of our treatment is the spine and therefore your nervous system. Your spine is the conduit for your nervous system. The nervous system is in essence your "electrical system" and controls all functions in the entire body. Every message both voluntary and involuntary comes from your brain. The spinal cord is the cable that brings the messages down to your body. 33 sets of spinal nerves exit between your spinal bones. If one of your spinal bones happens to become fixated (subluxated), irritation of the adjacent nerve can occur reducing the messages from the brain to that area. If the misalignment occurs in the lower back you may experience low back pain, stiffnes, soreness and or leg pain. You may also experience increased frequency of urination, constipation and or diarrhea, infertility, prostate issues etc., depending on which nerve or nerves are affected.
